There’s something sacred about a summer that feels spacious.
Not in square-footage but in the breezy, spontaneous, exhale-deeply kind of way.

When your home is cluttered, your calendar overloaded, or your to-do list longer than your Costco receipt… it’s hard to soak up the sun, let alone enjoy your space.
But the truth is:
You don’t need a perfect home to enjoy your summer. You just need a little less getting in the way.
o what does that actually look like?
It might be:
- A cleared-off kitchen island that turns into a lemonade station.
- A simplified entryway where flip-flops don’t trip you up.
- A drawer of summer essentials that doesn’t yell “What were you thinking?!” when you open it.
It’s these tiny, joyful declutter edits that turn chaos into calm and turn your home into a summer sanctuary.
Why We Hold On (Even When It’s Holding Us Back)
Most of us don’t cling to clutter for the fun of it.
We hold onto:
- Guilt (“It was a gift…”)
- Hope (“I might use this one day…”)
- Habit (“I’ve just always had it…”)
But when we start releasing – even just a little – we create space for something better:
Ease. Joy. Lightness. Room to breathe, nap, or spontaneous dance parties in the kitchen (highly recommended).

Let’s go Easy Breezy this summer. Try a few of these:
- Toss the expired sunscreen in your bathroom cabinet (your skin will thank you).
- Rehome the beach towel with the mysterious stain (maybe time to rotate your rag stash).
- Clear one shelf in the fridge so you can see your watermelon slices without a Jenga situation (sometimes just looking at expiration dates can make some space).
- Recycle the pile of catalogs you never asked for (take a minute to unsubscribe, cancel and/or remove your self from the mailing list).
Every small win makes your space feel more like you – the version of you that’s ready to enjoy the season, not battle it.
This Isn’t About Perfection
It’s about giving your future self a little more room to breathe.
A home that doesn’t overwhelm you.
A space that supports spontaneous dinners, easy breezy mornings, and a nap in a sunbeam without guilt.
If summer is the season of light, let’s reflect that in our homes, too.
Your Invitation
This week, I challenge you to make space for something magical – no pressure, no perfection…
Just joy.
Pick one drawer. One surface. One corner.
And clear it like you’re making room for laughter, rest, and fresh basil on the windowsill.
Because maybe you are.
